Glassy, hard, irregular shaped granules with a very high purity of approx. 99.5 % SiO2 (dry basis) and an internal surface area of approx. 800m2/g. Because of its very large surface area, SG-1 exhibits a high adsorption for water vapour. SG-1 can be reactivated without significantly impairing the efficiency. It is therefore very economical, easy to dispose of and without any known adverse effects on the environment.

Applications
Due to its extremely high adsorptive capacity SG-1small porous has a multitude of uses: Static adsorption (=removal of moisture and control of humidity in packaging and other enclosed spaces without induces air flow). Dynamic adsorption(=removal of water from a continuously flowing glass or liquidstream). The emperature at reactivation should not exceed 180°C. Due for its strong affinity for polar molecules and substances respectively, water vapour as well as polar organic substances (e. g. ketones and acids) are being adsorbed on the inner surface of Silica Gel. SG-1 small porous, white is specially suitable for NOVACOR SCLAIRTECH process for LLDPE/HDPE production.

Handling
SG-1must always be kept in airtight containers to avoid pre-adsorption with water vapour. Face masks should be used at continual exposure to extensive dusting.
